The NPowerMATCH, Virtual Mentoring Program

NPower students and alumni are paired one-on-one with IT, Tech, Tech-adjacent, or business professionals with 3+ years of experience, who can support mentees with goal setting, networking, encouragement and career insights. 

NPowerMATCH mentors meet with a young adult or a military veteran, and change the trajectory of their life in as little as 30 minutes a week. Mentors commit to a 16-week pairing with monthly interactions as part of NPower’s National Virtual Mentoring Program.

Mentor Role Qualifications

• Mentors are professionals with 3+ years in tech or business—or NPower alumni with 1+ year of experience. No special field required—just a sincere passion for guiding future professionals
  
• Mentors have Internet access to access NPowerMATCH portal and video conferencing capabilities
• Mentors are proactive about communication and correspondence, with strong listening and writing skills
• Mentors hold themselves to high standards and expectations

Mentor Time Commitment

• Mentors commit to one 16-week cycle
  
• Mentors commit to brief weekly chats (via platform, email, and/or text) and one monthly video call with mentee—pairings set schedule and cadence

• Fall 2026 Cycle: November 16th, 2026 - March 1st, 2027
• Fall Application Deadline: December 1st*
• Matching Begins: Late October
• Invite Only - Live Mentor Orientation: Mid-October

*Applications accepted on a rolling basis and will apply to current-cycle waitlist or next cycle if past deadline! Waitlisted mentors are invited to attend mentoring events and engagements.

How to Apply

1. Apply: Prospective mentors complete their application by completing the screening questions below
2. Join: Selected mentors are invited to complete their mentorship profile in our mentorship platform and join the community
3. Train: Mentors attend or view an orientation, receive preparation resources, and a point of contact for troubleshooting
4. Match: Pairings are matched for the upcoming cycle!
